Fade-in Japan
Fade-in Japan is a furniture made in Italy, conceived in Switzerland, inspired by japanese joinery.
Fade-in Japan is built without the use of hardware. Six walnut boards, are precisely carved and wedged together through the use of three types of joints belonging to the tradition of Japanese joinery, and through the help of 8 padouk pins. A sliding drawer stainless steel complete the furniture.
Fade-in Japan is born from the collaboration with Mario Moro, craftsman from Garzigliana, who throughout the whole construction process "carved wood with a spirit close by, who took identity along with what he was creating".
The interlocking joints used are:
Hana-sen
Hako-dome
Hira-hozo
